Home Management Systems Safety

The MCE Safety System has been developed, implemented and is managed to ensure total Safety Risk Management across the business including the primary goal of reducing workplace illness and injuries and minimising the costs associated with workplace accidents.

The Safety Management System puts our people first and safety as a top priority. Without establishing strong safety systems, establishing a "safety" culture and thereby assuring the safety of our people McIlwain Civil recognises it will cease to be an employer of choice. The safety system has been successfully accredited for over three years now and undergone in excess of 10 external audits against AS/NZS4801 with the current Workcover risk rating below industry average.

Through the implementation of our current strategic plan, McIlwain Civil  is committed to embedding safety into all skills development activities, exceeding best practice safety indicators for our people and projects, maintaining a workforce that presents "fit" and is competent and capable for allotted duties and providing safety awareness campaigns and industry news updates on a regular basis.

McIlwain Civil has also implemented the Safety System to both internally and externally show the adoption of a systematic approach to controlling risks to all personnel affected by the organisations activities.

The development and implementation of the system has been carefully managed to ensure legislative requirements have been met and pragmatic integration is achieved. The system uses a risk based assessment process where employees evaluate the likelihood and consequence of tasks as required under state and federal legislation.
