Project Summary - Sherwood Parklands
Pradella Constructions have embarked on replicating the Roma Street Parklands on their site at Sherwood. The development includes the construction of townhouses, villas and manors each designed to maximize parkland views and cater for a broad range of potential purchasers. Our Project Works comprised bulk earthworks, roadworks, stormwater drainage, sewer reticulation, acid sulphate treatment and associated civil infrastructure works
Stage 1 bulk earthworks comprised the sorting and sifting of 30,000m 3 of contaminated fill as well as the removal, treatment and replacement of 14,000m 3 of acid sulphate soils. Ninety metres of damaged twin barrel 1800mm reinforced concrete pipe (RCP) was also replaced under tidal influence.
Stage 2 saw the removal of physical contaminants from a disused concrete batching plant, re-use of treated, stockpiled fill and the installation of significant stormwater and sewer infrastructure.
The two stages combined included 5000m 2 of flexible pavement, 600 metres of sewer reticulation and 900 metres of common services trenching.
The project was completed under extremely strict environmental and geotechnical control in order to remove the entire site from the contaminated land register.
