Australasian Lubricant Manufacturing Company Pty Ltd ( ALMC) is the largest manufacturer of Lubricants in Australia. The largest of the ALMC plants is located near Fisherman Islands, at Tanker Street, Lytton.
As part of a major plant upgrade, McIlwain Civil were contracted to construct foundations for two new storages tanks ( Approx. 3,500 tonnes each). Following the completion of this work, McIlwain Civil were subsequently awarded the contract for the civil works associated with a new Bulk Truck Loading Gantry as well as a new Head Office building.
Work involved bulk earthworks, heavy duty reinforced concrete pavements, gantry footings and services. All works were completed ahead of schedule to a high degree of quality. Strict dimensional (horizontal and vertical) tolerance were maintained for both the tank foundation and the gantry footings, which ensured that there were no issues with the installation of prefabricated components by subsequent contractors.
Safety and Environmental performance were imperative throughout the project due to the risks associated with working within as extremely hazardous environment. Effective risk management planning and monitoring ensured that there were no environmental or safety incidents during the project.
McIlwain Civil maintains a close relationship with ALMC and continues to undertake projects of varying sizes and complexity at their Lytton base of operations.
