McIlwain Civil is determined to maintain its adherence to sound environmental performance by controlling the impacts of our activities, products and services on the environment.

McIlwain Civil is achieving this through;

Adopting sustainability frameworks and performance benchmarks for all projects
Promoting "at source" recycling of construction waste products and general refuse
Targeting reductions in energy consumption and water usage
Achieving recognition as a "green" head office
Intoduction of an enterprise based carbon pollution reduction scheme (CPRS)
Continually improving existing sediment and erosion control standards

To compliment our efforts in reducing the impact of our activities it is important to McIlwain Civil to make tangible improvements to the natural environment on our projects and throughout the community. This includes our participation in the bi-annual McIlwain Civil/Dilkusha Environmental Day which provides ongoing support for the Dilkusha Nature Refuge.

McIlwain Civil is committed to limiting our environmental footprint, educating and empowering our employees, and exceeding the environmental expectations of our clients and stakeholders.

Third Party certification of our environmental system was completed in 2006 and has successfully achieved re-accreditation via the triennial audit in November 2009 against ISO14001.
